Livelihood Training
(03.15) | | RC Marikina, in partnership with Barangay Nangka Manpower Development Training Office, Marikina City held its 5 days handicraft livelihood training program for 30 women participants. This is also in line with the celebrations of March as National Women's Month. Participants were taught how to make beautiful and sturdy bags, plate trays, and bottle holders made of recycled newspapers.

Golden Anniversary

The highlights of the event were the Golden Anniversary Waltz, honoring the past presidents and honoring the loyalty awardees.

After the mass, a motorcade went around Marikina and made a stopover at the Marikina Rotary Marker for a short photo ops. Then, proceeded to Nangka Elementary School for the last 8 KALUSUGAN Medical, Dental and Surgical Mission simultaneous with an Operation Tuli and Blood Donation with the Red Cross Marikina Chapter.

(02.22.15) | | BCG Marilou Co unveiled the Marikina Zone Rotary Marker on February 22, 2015 at the Marikina Zone Rotary Park. With her were PDG Antonio Co, PDG Ting Tanco, PDG Efren De Guzman, LtG Jun Angeles, LtG Raul Evangelista, SAG Rolando Cruz Garcia, AG Dante Verano and the Best Class Presidents of Zone 4. This Rotary Marker commemorates the 50 years Rotary is doing "Service Above Self" to the community of Marikina through its service projects. It also commemorates the strong working relationship with the Marikina Local Government in providing the humanitarian services.

Rotarians and spouses were divided into 3 groups to perform a sitcom from the 70's, 80's and 90's. Kids from the Voice Philippines also rendered some songs and dance to amuse the audience.

It's purpose is to provide the medical attention needed by everyone in the community especially for the children, senior citizens and persons with disablities (PWD).

(11.19-21.14) | | The 2nd International River Summit with its theme "Reviving Rivers, Rebuilding Civilization" was hosted by the Rotary Club of Marikina and the Marikina City Government. The theme captures the call to action on reviving our rivers not just on economic terms but equally important on social and cultural imperatives. The summit was held at the Marikina Convention Center from November 19 to 21, 2014 and was attended by international and local delegates.

Rotary Day
(11.16.14) | | The Rotary Cub of Marikina with all the Rotary Clubs of Zone 4 hosted a 3 in 1 project for the District Rotary Day last November 16, 2014. The day started with a Fun Run lead by the Rotary Club of Marikina Uptown. Rotarians of District 3800 with families and friends run the 3K and 5K route starting from the Marikina City Hall grounds and back. Simultaneously, a Job Fair lead by the Rotary Club of Marikina West and a Medical Mission lead by the Rotary Club of Marikina were on-going. Both projects were well attended by many job seekers and people needing medical attention, respectively. This District Wide Rotary Day was spear headed by Governor Marilou Co to help all the communities within the district thru the effort of the different clubs of every zone. It also serves as a Public Image for Rotary.

(10.30.14) | | Rotarians, spouses and guests of the Rotary Club of Marikina dressed up as zombies and evil creatures during the 17th Weekly Meeting/Ladies Night and Halloween Party held at the Marikina Rotary Youth Center last October 30, 2014. There were dance performances by some Rotarians and Spouses. Prizes were given to those who were in the best and scariest costumes. The spouses also prepared some games and a lot of raffles and prizes. Two thumbs up to Chairman Roman Villame, Sps Lorie Villame and all the committee members and spouses for a very successful Halloween Party.

Ang mga estudyante ay nagpapakita ng kanilang husay at talino sa pagsulat sa unang araw at pagbigkas sa pangalawang araw ngayong darating na ika-28 ng Agosto 2014.

RC Batangas Return Visit
(08.22.14) | | Sister Club RC Batangas led by Councilor/Best Class President Claudette Ambida visited us last August 22, 2014 at the Marikina Rotary Youth Center. With the Rotarians from RC Marikina they went to the Office of the Vice Mayor to make a Courtesy Call to Vice Mayor/PP Fabi Cadiz. VM/PP Fabi showed them the Session Hall and gave the visitors some tokens. They proceeded to the Mayor's Office but unfortunately, Mayor/PP Del de Guzman wasn't able to meet with them because of his hectic schedule. Instead, they were warmly received by the Chief Executive Assistant and Pres-Elect Willie Reyes and toured our visitors within the office of the Mayor. From there, they for lunch at the Kapitan Moy, and had a very fruitful fellowship until they left to attend the Rotary Day at the Sofitel Hotel.

Senior Citizens Summit
(08.20.14) | | The Committee on the Concern for the Elderly, chaired by Treas. Jerome Josef had its "Senior Citizens Summit" Project at the Covered Court of IVC. It is a joint project of RC Marikina with the Marikina Valley Medical Society, United Bayanihan Foundation, Above 60 Academy, Inner Wheel Club of Marikina with the Inner Wheel Club of Marikina Central and Inner Wheel Club of Marikina Valley. More than 200 Senior Citizens of IVC and nearby Barangays attended the summit. They were also given Bone Scanning and Muscle Mass Scanning and provided with free sampling from the sponsors. Dr. Cherry Josef who specializes on geriatrics and a member of the Inner Wheel Club of Marikina lectured on Healthy Aging and Life Style Modification. Dr. Nympha Mundin and Pres./Dr. Claro Mundin, from the Marikina Valley Medical Society discussed the effects of smoking to elders, breast cancer and lectured on prostate cancer, respectively.

RC Batangas Sisterhood
(08.19.14) | | RC Marikina and RC Batangas had its sisterhood signing last August 19, 2014 at Villa Celia Village, Kumintang Ilaya, Batangas City. Both Clubs have so many things in common aside from both being the Mother Club. RC Marikina is celebrating its 50th year, RC Batangas is on its 65th year. Both have quite a large number of active and exempted members.

(08.09-12.14) | | The Rotary Club of Marikina was invited by the Rotary Club of Luyang on their Installation Night last August 9, 2014. 14 Rotarians and 2 representatives of the City Government of Marikina flew via Cebu Pacific on midnight of August 8, 2014. The Delegates were BCP Dodjie Cabalquinto, ADS Vincent Santos, SAG Roland Garcia, Mayor/PP Del de Guzman, Vice Mayor/PP Fabi Cadiz, PP Rene Florencio, PP Boy Ong, PP Noel Flores, PE Willie Reyes, Sec Val Barcinal, Dir. Joey Ramos, Dir. Bernard Cansana, Dir August Igliane, PRO Joel Relleve, with Councilor/PP Jojo Banson of RC Marikina East and Dr. Lito Llabres head of the Marikina Sports Center. The 3 day visit was also full of fellowship among Rotarians of RC Marikina and RC Luyang. Both Clubs exchanged ideas and possible joint projects in the future. Kalamidad Paghandaan
(07.31.14) | | The Rotary Club of Marikina with its partners in service, the Marikina Valley Medical Society, the City Health Nutrition Office, and the Inner Wheel Club of Marikina with Inner Wheel Club of Marikina Central and Inner Wheel Club of Marikina Valley, in its preparedness to any calamity during this rainy season identified 5 Barangays that are most affected during disaster. 3 members of each barangay; a barangay staff, barangay health worker and a community nutrition volunteer were trained to prepare a Low Cost Nutritious dish out of food donations or food ration given to evacuees. The culminating activity was a very fun and exciting cooking contest of the five barangay groups. Winners received prizes from the Rotary Club of Marikina and its Partners in Service.
